Cookie Policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage PureChems uses on purechems.eu, including shop.purechems.eu (the "Site"), what each one does and how long it stays in your browser. It should be read together with our Privacy policy.
1. The short version
- We use a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage entries. All of them are set by the Site itself, on our own domain.
- Most of them are strictly necessary: they remember your cart, your checkout details while you pay, and a discount code from a link.
- The rest belong to our own first-party analytics, which tells us how the Site is used. It runs on our own domain and does not share data with any advertising network.
- We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use Meta Pixel, Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel or any other third-party tracking or advertising technology.
2. What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser and that the browser sends back to the website on later visits. Browser storage works in a similar way. "Local storage" keeps information in your browser until it is deleted. "Session storage" keeps information only for the browser tab you are using and deletes it when you close that tab. In this policy, we use the word "cookies" for all of these.
3. Strictly necessary storage
These entries are needed for the Site to work as you expect. Without them, the Site could not remember your cart, and the checkout could not work properly. Because they are strictly necessary, they do not require your consent.
pc-cart-v4
- Type: local storage.
- Purpose: holds the products and quantities in your cart, so your cart stays the same when you move between pages or come back later.
- Kept: until your order is placed, you empty the cart, or you clear your browser storage.
pc-checkout-v1
- Type: session storage.
- Purpose: keeps the details you entered at checkout while you go to the payment page, so you do not have to type them again if you come back to the checkout.
- Kept: in the current tab only, for one hour at most. It is deleted as soon as you leave the checkout for another page or your order is placed.
pc-card-out
- Type: session storage.
- Purpose: notes that you have gone to the hosted card payment page, so that if you come back with your browser's back button you are taken to the shop or your cart rather than to the payment page again.
- Kept: in the current tab only, and deleted once it has been used.
pc-crypto-quote
- Type: session storage.
- Purpose: carries your cryptocurrency payment quote from the checkout to the payment step.
- Kept: in the current tab only, and deleted as soon as the payment step has read it.
pc-offer-[order number]
- Type: local storage.
- Purpose: after an order is placed, the Site may show a time-limited offer. This entry stores when that offer's timer started, so the timer does not restart if you reload the page.
- Kept: until you clear your browser storage. It contains only a time, not your details.
pc_code
- Type: cookie.
- Purpose: when you open a discount link, this cookie keeps the discount code so it can be applied at checkout.
- Kept: 7 days, or until your order is placed, whichever comes first.
pc-test-key and pc-test-ship
- Type: session storage.
- Purpose: used only by our own team when testing the checkout in an internal test mode. They are never set during a normal visit or a normal order.
- Kept: in the current tab only, until it is closed.
4. First-party analytics
Our analytics runs on our own domain. It records which pages are visited, what is clicked, the steps taken through checkout and which link or campaign brought a visitor to the Site. It uses random identifiers that do not contain your name or email address, and the data is not shared with any advertising network. We use it to understand how the Site is used and to improve it.
fa_vid
- Type: local storage and cookie.
- Purpose: a random visitor identifier, so that several visits from the same browser can be counted as one visitor.
- Kept: 365 days for the cookie; the local storage copy stays until you clear your browser storage.
fa_sid
- Type: session storage.
- Purpose: a random session identifier, so that the pages viewed during one visit can be grouped together.
- Kept: in the current tab only. A new session starts after 30 minutes without activity.
fa_seen
- Type: local storage.
- Purpose: the time of your last activity on the Site, used to tell when a visit has ended.
- Kept: until you clear your browser storage.
fa_conv
- Type: session storage.
- Purpose: notes that a completed order has already been counted, so it is not counted twice if the confirmation page is reloaded.
- Kept: in the current tab only, until it is closed.
fa_lt and fa_lc
- Type: local storage and cookie (fa_lt), cookie (fa_lc).
- Purpose: if you arrive through a partner or campaign link, these remember which link it was, so that an order placed later can be attributed to it.
- Kept: for the number of days set by that link, after which they are removed.
fa_me
- Type: local storage and cookie.
- Purpose: used only on our own team's devices, to leave our own visits out of the statistics. It is set only through an internal link and never during a normal visit.
- Kept: on our team's devices only.
5. Third-party pages
When you pay by card, you are taken to a hosted secure payment page run by a third-party payment processor. That page is not part of the Site, and the processor may use its own cookies there, for example for security and fraud prevention, under its own cookie and privacy policies. The same applies to carrier tracking pages that you open from a shipping email.
6. How to control or delete cookies
You can see, block and delete cookies and browser storage at any time in your browser settings. Most browsers let you clear the data of a single website, block all cookies, or block cookies from a particular website. Session storage is deleted automatically when you close the tab.
If you block or delete the strictly necessary entries, your cart will be emptied, and the checkout may not work. Blocking the analytics entries does not affect how the Site works for you. You can also object to our analytics at any time by emailing us, as described in our Privacy policy.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add, remove or change any cookie or storage entry, we will update this page and the date at the top.
