Description

AHK-Cu comes as 100 mg of lyophilized powder in a glass vial. An independent lab confirms at least 99% purity by HPLC and mass spectrometry, and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) comes with every batch.

What is AHK-Cu?

AHK-Cu is a copper(II) complex of the tripeptide alanine, histidine and lysine (Ala-His-Lys). It is a close relative of GHK-Cu and differs only in the first amino acid: alanine instead of glycine. Like GHK, the AHK sequence holds a copper ion tightly through its histidine and the peptide backbone.

  • Hair follicle research: in a 2007 in vitro study, AHK-Cu supported the growth of isolated human hair follicles and the proliferation of dermal papilla cells.
  • Copper peptide biology: how small peptides carry copper to cells, studied side by side with GHK-Cu.

The research is preclinical, and lab results cannot be applied directly to humans. Our articles on copper peptide research and hair follicle research compounds give the wider context.

AHK-Cu or GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu occurs naturally in human plasma and has been studied for decades in wound healing, skin and gene expression models. AHK-Cu is a synthetic analog, and most of its research focuses on hair follicles. Both come as 100 mg vials, so the two are easy to compare in the same study.

Buy AHK-Cu: quality, storage and shipping

Every batch is made in a controlled cleanroom. Mass spectrometry confirms the identity of the peptide and HPLC confirms its purity. Our guide on how to read a peptide COA explains what each value on the certificate means.

Store the powder at 2 to 8 °C and away from light, and keep any reconstituted solution in the fridge. For dissolving the powder in the lab we carry bacteriostatic water. Orders ship discreetly with tracking across the EU, and you can pay by card, Google Pay or crypto.

Questions about AHK-Cu

What does AHK-Cu stand for?

A, H and K are the one-letter codes for alanine, histidine and lysine. Cu stands for copper.

Why is AHK-Cu blue?

The color comes from the bound copper(II) ion. A blue to violet powder or solution is normal for copper peptides.
